Fall at the Kibbe house

Fall at the Kibbe house has been busy.. and fun! Since returning from the USA, I have been busy organising my company for growth in 2009, as well as looking at ways to train leaders more effectively at ICF. Currently, I have the luxury of setting my own timetable, and consequently, I choose to spend as much time as possible with h and jude at home in the afternoons. Consequently, I work hard in the mornings, spurratically in the afternoons, and then hard again late afternoons/evenings. I never realised this until just now, but that seems to be the pattern currently. H is finding pleasure in her job, but has finally admitted she is having trouble being super wife, super mom, super employee, super mentor and super runner of the house, all, in the ways she wants to. We are working on this!

Jude has been growing lots lately. (Apprently this is normal) His personality is developing more and more (He’s becoming more predictable in his actions which I think is good). He continues to be a very happy baby, with a great appetite (especially for pear and oats, his current favorite) and maintains his super chilled, happy-go-lucky demeanor. Recently, Jude has met Zelie, (the 1 year old of a good friend of ours who takes care of Jude in the am) whom he spends most of his mornings with playing. They are becoming good friends which makes his time away from mom and dad more fun. (i suppose!) Here are some of Jude’s best shots. Of course, there are thousands of photos each with their own story, but we only present the best to you, our failful blog readers! Enjoy.

Jude now sits up confidently and loves playing on the bed in his room!

Jude is a very happy camper in the mornings. Looks like one eye was more awake than the other when we took the photo!

He looks awesome in navy blue.

Jude’s first taste of pear and banana… or was it just pear?

Jude with his super-model pose while dad smurks.

here, Jude wears almost the exact same smile as his good buddy Gabriel!

Jude and I on our super-ugly kitchen couch. (we have a big kitchen)

That’s our kitchen.

Jude at 6 months

I know that you’d all rather see the latest pictures of Jude than hear about how I’m doing at work :) so click here to see some photos with Nonno and Nonna and Uncle Joey!

Jude is loving bananas, pears and stewed apples. He’s also eating pumpkin and potatoes though he’s not so hot about the potatoes, strangely enough…

Anyway, he is constantly growing and he is now 6 months old! Dad is back from the US and we are enjoying some well ‘deserved’ family-time this weekend. I cannot believe we are already in the run-up to Christmas, and we are starting to get organised for our trip to Milwaukee!!! Grandpa and Grandma Kibbe here we come (all four of us, including uncle Dave :) !

Texas Hold’em at our Central Texas ranch

We have spent the last few days at an amazing ranch here in central Texas. What a retreat it has been. Mike Knight has created an oasis in the Texan desert complete with a 5 star Ranch house, 4×4s (ATVs), hunting, more guns, hunting blinds, game feeders, great Texan steak (T-bone, Chicken fried) and of course… Texas Hold’em!

Here is our location: http://is.gd/4MwF (Just past the ‘C’ marker there is a turn off left into the ‘forest’. 1km down this path, you see a clearing and a big building which is the barn, and west of that, the Ranch House.)

Ill post some pics soon.

Jude in the morning

These days, because nonno and nonna are here to take care of me and Jude, I get to leave a little later for the office, which means I get to spend more precious time with my boy!!

These morning moments are so special, and I get to play and take pics of a very happy Jude!

Busy down n Texas

Today we went back in for round two of shopping. This time, we went to a mall in Grapevine, north of where we are living. I must confess it was an utter success, and I came away having scored two nice pares of Levi’s along with several other select items, and 70 dollars worth of baby clothes. We then visited Fellowship Church’s Downtown campus and spent a few hours with the pastor there, Chris. In the evening, we ate an awesome dinner with Jonathan at Piranah sushi bar… wow…

Cecile and I went to the FC youth Wednesday evening “small groups night”. It was an eye opener… they work really hard and they are VERY good. Then it was off to the arcades to play some video games. Wow… this is almost vacation!!! A few photos from the past 40 hours or so…

Matt identifying with Americana.

Fellowship Church teens in action. What an amazing band!!!

our first weekend in Dallas/Ft Worth

wow. We have had a great time so far, visiting Fellowship Church, lifechurch.tv and Shady Grove Church. We’ve met a lot of awesome people including a cool chick from Hooters and the COOLEST Ukrainien dude I have ever met. (Ex army guy who now is the senior pastor of New Testament Church in Ukraine.

Take a look at a few photos taken from my BlackBerry Bold, and enjoy.

Just a few pics

Dallas!

Yes, Stuart aka Dad, is now in Dallas safely with Matthias. We are spending the better part of a week here at Shady Grove Church, speaking at a missions conference and basically relaxing and having a great time. I’ll post photos as I feel inspired. Already several funny/interesting stories to share. Tomorrow, golf, and a bit of shopping… (babe, get me your list soon!)

Thanks H for letting me purchase my new HP mininote before I left, from which I am now typing this post! A bientot.

Trip to the Chateau!

While Stuart was busy at the leaders’ day retreat (Ok, this is on 4th October… I have been slightly busy lately), I thought I would take Jude to do something cultural for once. The Chateau de Prangins was the location of what was called a ’social sculpture’ by Catalan artist Muma, more info at (http://www.lejardindeslumieres.ch/EN/abstract.html).

The artist and 500 volunteers lit up the castle of Prangins with 60,000 candles, and it was really an amazing sight. It certainly made me want to go and actually visit the castle itself, which is a museum portraying the life of people who lived in the mid-18th century, with gardens and a ‘kitchen garden’ (vegetable patch I suppose, only massive), also kept as it would have been in 1730s. Fascinating stuff, and lovely shots. :)

Pretty fairytale-ish and so impressive there were thousands of people visiting.

I propped Jude up so that he could see! So many LIGHTS!

My other favourite photo

Jude + solids = COOL!

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

Jude got his first taste of solids this past Saturday afternoon while we were up at the chalet. Along with his friend Gabriel, they both tasted pureed carrots… and the DADS got the honor of feeding the babies!
Jude gagged a bit but overall, I think it was a positive experience. :) This video is take two (dad filming) as mom (attempts to) feed Jude.
