Jude has really enjoyed the beginning of his second summer in Vich, and especially likes running around in his diapers. The never ending bundle of energy has kept mom and dad in shape running after him and helping him to explore the amazing surrounding we are gifted to live in. After many requests, I have finally gotten a few recent shots of Jude online. Hopefully this will be enough of a fix to tie you over until I can next get a good batch up (and some video!) ENJOY.

Jude is introduced to David and Cecile’s new baby girl, Lennie. (it’s amazing how much these things grow in a year!)

We just thought this one was hilarious

…And this one v cute!

This shot could end up being our “2009 pic of the year - Jude meets Papaya”

I guarantee photos are coming. Jude is sprouting like a weed.
In the meanwhile, the first half of 2009 has flown by, jude is trying out for the olympics and we are half way towards our second midget. Kibbe Technical Services is becoming The IT Guys in a few days, and it will be a 100% Kibbe venture with Dave joining us as a director! Ive spent a good amount of money on infra to get the new entity up and running correctly and we are really excited about the opportunities ahead.
Harriet is looking gorgeous, is tired almost all the time, and is over all really enjoying the second pregnancy. I felt the little squid kick for the first time today!
Follow me on twitter to keep up to date with what we (me) r up to as I often tweet (as its much less time consuming to do).
a bientot!

This morning, h took jude out early to play with the wisteria flowers which had fallen from the tree. How fun!
In other news, we finally bought an SUV to pollute the planet with. We are really happy with it and thought you might like to look at some photos of it.

yes, that’s right… the bun is in the oven.

Throwing balls
As (an American) dad, I am obviously keen on Jude’s potential professional sports career. One day, I came home to find Jude digging through my tennis ball collection. To my suprise, he picked up one of the balls and instead of drooling all over it, he threw it towards me. Since that day, I have made it a priority to play catch with him!

Walking
That’s right, Jude is definitely walking. He took his first “real” steps a few days before his 11th month birthday, and hasn’t looked back. I am amazed how in the space of a two months, he has gone from barely standing (I have a video for that coming soon too) to flying around the house with confidence. Today, we had a nice video skype convo with Grandma and Grandpa and Jude was the ultimate entertainer, talkative, obviously seeing and dialoguing with his grandparents, zipping in and out of the room, displaying his walking skills confidently and playing with mom. In this video Jude is playing with his good friend Zelie!

Climbing the stairs
Uncle Joey stayed the night about three weeks ago, and came into the office exclaiming, “Jude climbed the stairs by himself!!” I refused to believe him so he asked me to come watch Jude as he was sure Jude would indulge himself once more. He did. I was very proud. (Unfortunately, the audio cuts shortly after Jude starts climbing)

The garden
Jude loves the garden. Jude loves sun. Jude loves flowers. Eating flowers. Hence, his love for the garden. Hence, his hate for the lawn mower. I thank God every day for the miracle of being able to live in a house and play with my son in our garden.

Jude’s new friend Gabriel
Since the beginning of April, Jude has been spending part of the day playing at Gabe’s house. This is a miracle provision as Harriet still works mornings. Al and Fab have been a huge support to us, and we are so grateful to them for their love. Gabe has lots of fun toys and the two of them get on great

Yes, that is right. we are posting a blog post! But just a really small one because we are again busy. Currently in Italy, H and I decided we needed a vacation after a very intense 8 weeks at home with Jude, working and helping build ICF. So much has happened… and hopefully, we will give a clear summary of everything soon… a bientot!

So Jude is ten months old today, and he is standing up and crawling everywhere (at lightening speed…) we enjoyed our first ‘day of spring’ or a gorgeous sunny day - it was warm and I put a rug on the grass where Jude, Stuart and I enjoyed some morning sun… on a day where if it weren’t for Jude we would have been sleeping at that time, so there ARE advantages to sleep deprivation! Enjoy some pics from the last couple of months!

I think this was taken the day we realised he had an ear infection - he had a temperature…

I never thought this would happen … I never thought that one day, Stuart would be busier than I. But it is true. The unthinkable has occurred, and I find myself feeling a little useless, and, to be honest, a bit jealous! I am not at all saying that I don’t have enough to do, not AT all. Stuart is definitely over-committed far beyond what I could handle, and I just don’t understand HOW he does it! I have been kept rather occupied of course, since Jude is no longer a little angel who lies on his back all day and flaps his hands, especially with the recent successions of illnesses: he is now refusing to sleep when I put him to bed. How dare he? :p
Apart from that, we are doing very well, we’ve had more snow than ever, although not much skiing to go with it (babies do make everything much more complicated!). We are (I’m using the royal ‘we’ in this case) however rather getting fed up with winter and very much looking forward to some spring-ness, which is, thankfully just around the corner! I have evidence of this since our daffodils are starting to make their appearance!! Very exciting indeed!
I know that you all want to see more picture of Jude but I don’t have any right now. I promise to put some up soon though!

As Harriet rightly put it, “This marks the end of my [our] freedom.” This is a historic day for us — we are ecstatic!

Howdy y’all. Harriet and I have been snowed under with the unfortunate cocktail of Jude’s new teeth (ie breaking of gums ie pain) and a rather painful ((double)) ear infection. The result: an unhappy Jude AND a set of tired parents. We aren’t dying, but lets just say it’s not quite as “fun”, as playing in the snow naked, eating jalepinios or indulging in a friendly game of bloody knuckles. (none of which are fun)
I’m looking forward to a fully recovered Jude.
BELOW - attempts to photograph Jude’s first tooth… he is very secretive about it…!

I know many of you are desperate for some Judeness, so voila — a few pics from the past few weeks here at the Kibbe ranch. We got so fed up with the grey that we climbed above the clouds to spend time in the sun at La Dole. Jude’s first sled ride. Fun. Then further down, Jude, with his ever increasing body strength, loves playing in the bath tub and has now become good friends with Rubber Ducky. Video to come!

Yes, Jude has finally cut his first tooth. We tried several times to get a photo (as is the custom at our house — to snap shots for every event) but to no avail!
I was starting to think that he would be a toothless wonder… my wife told me to stop being silly. Anyhow, he has been obviously restless and just Wednesday, a tooth. I look forward to his pain decreasing though as this means significantly less sleep for Harriet (and for me on occasion!).
We’ll get some photos up soon!

My sister’s album came out in November 2008, and I LOVE it! She has been working really hard on it for a couple of years, so it’s great to see the CD is out for sale now! Here is a link to her myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/elinatali
If you like her stuff and would like to order a CD you can just let me know
She writes the lyrics, the music and plays the guitar and sings…. she’s pretty amazing! I think I must be the least artistic of the three of us…
AND, here’s my claim to fame, the picture on the front cover of her album ‘Interprétation’ was taken in our garden, under the magnolia tree!
I’ll leave you to go to the link and listen to her tracks, I hope you fall in love with them too!
