We are back from Denmark! It was amazing. plain and simple. We got two round trip tickets to Malmo airport for 80 pounds, rented a car for 3 days for 60 pounds and crossed this MASSIVE 30km bridge attaching sweden to denmark. We left at dark thirty for the airport, and arrived in sweden before 10am. Yes, it was early! We had great weather greeting us on arrival and the nissan micra was GREAT. Not a sports car, but definitely a FUN city car. We then made our way to the wedding, and as you can see (not yet… sorry… will upload video soon), it was a wonderful ceremony. (if you want to see the movie, you will need (quicktime).
We survived until about 6pm when we HAD to take a nap, so we snuck out to the car (in the middle of the party) and had a 30mns power nap. Power naps ROCK. It saved my life that night.
We crashed at our aunt and uncle´s house, enjoying the QUIET and PEACE of Denmark. Now more than ever, i appreciate the gift of living in a safe quiet environment. You probably have to do a big city for a few years to understand what im saying…
On sunday, we relaxed, slept, slept, and relaxed, oh yes, and went sight seeing. We went to the castle where Hamlet was set. It was a great drive up to the coast. A lady there gave us an hour long tour of the whole place, and the history is amazing. The king, cunstructed the 80mx80m castle with a 63 meter long ball room. Just imagine that. Actually… here is a photo: the little person in blue is Harriet. She is HALF WAY DOWN the room. amazing. I definitely am including one of those in the architectural plans for my house.
Danish food. interesting.
Monday, it was time for us to leave. Harriet and i enjoyed a great jog together around the Fredensborj castle. We ran about 6 km, through the forest and enjoyed the awesome calm. Then we went into Copenhagen for a few hours, meeting up with Christian and visiting this awesome round tower. We timed our trip perfectly. God took great care of us, giving us safe passage and giving us wisdom in the timing of everything. We dropped off the car right on time, and got home by 12:30. It was an awesome trip.

We are off to Denmark tomorrow. It promises to be a wonderful occasion with Casper and Heidi getting married! Their baby, Laura, is unfortunately not invited to the ceremony! Why this is.. i cannot fathom. But anywho. We have rented a Nissan Micra for £60. Awesome price. Cheaper than the train fairs actually! ANd we get to take the big bridge that links Sweden to Denmark. We will be staying with Melita and Henning, and doing a few day trips I imagine!
My wife and I went shopping today for charcoal! Yes, we have purchased our first GRILL!
Its big enough to cater for perhaps…6 people if unfolded totally. Its a portable one… and its cool. Ill get some pics during a grill-out. Anywho - during our trip to the store, she bought some ginger beer, as its called here…. REAL Ginger-Ale for your canada dry fans… this stuff has a serious bite to it. Wel… h wanted to cool it down… so into the freezer it went…. and well… lets just say she only remembered it was in the freezer when we got back from work at 8:30pm tonight….
Its an awesome pic.
Otherwise, nothing much. Just a 4am departure tomorrow morning… ugh. Pray for us. Oh yes — get yourself a bit torrent client, and take a look at this site. It is v nice for tv shows if you are a big CSI fan or 24 fan… I am in the process of getting some NCAA basketball games from last season from there as well! Go Indiana!

One thing I wish we did more effectively at CJ’s was engage with and talk with the youth. We have some great relationships with some of the kids, but with the majority, we can’t seem to get past “hi” or “how’s school?”. Two kids came in to CJ’s today and looked bored out of their skulls! One sat there playing with the CD Rom drive for 15 minutes. This young man is VERY funny, and is never at a loss for words. Unfortunately, I have not been able to ever have a quality conversation with him, even in almost two years of knowing him. Please pray into this area for us.
I found a groovy interesting wierd app for all you “oldies” who are attempting to be SMSers - You can now use your key pad to type morse code. The code is then translated back into text on your screen where it is then sent via SMS. (for example, if you click the “left arrow”, you get a dot, if you click the “right arrow” you get a dash.) Cool!
I didn’t know that our very own David Mamane played in the NBA! I found a pic of him here. Go D! (actually, its Tony Parker, but they could be brothers… don’t you think!??)
