Spain days 9, 10, 11, 12

The last two legs of our trip took us to Cordoba (Not Cordova Dad!) and then up to Madrid, where Chris and Kelly flew back to Nashville from. Briefly, Cordoba was beautiful, but the signage in the city was absolutely horrible - it took us two hours to find our house. Guess it didnt help having the pueblo owner give us directions like this - “Go to the bus station (on this road) (10 miles away from the house, and in a totally different city to where ours was located) and then just ask.”

Madrid was most beautiful by night but was v dirty and sticky. Neither Harry nor I slept v well in the heat… that is… until Wany gave us her super fan - she´s a CHAMPION!

Saying goodbye was a sad occasion but as always, our friendship will continue to grow despite the 5000 mile separation. Tony, we are considering a move to TC in the next few years!!
A bientot, my best friends.

Spain Days 6, 7, 8

We have just spent three marvelous days in Tangiers, in Northern Morocco. All of us agree, we could happily ship the Tangerina Hotel over to our respective homes (along with the scenery!) We love it and highly recommend it to anyone going to Morocco. I will take my wife back for a suprise weekend away, and Chris has said he would happily return, just to stay at La Tangerina.

Apologies for not reporting on our trip to Granada and the BEAUTIFUL Arab fortress we visited. Might have time to post some pics in next few days.

Back to Morocco, so many memories, some of which were tough experiences at the time, but now we think back on them with a smile. My caddie during our 9 holes of golf ended up being an army general, bossing me around the entire way! I almost lost it with him! :) We got “attacked” by some rug salesmen in a Bazaar. Never again will we enter one unless it has been recommended by someone we trust!!

We have seen a tremendous amount of color, rich culture, and experienced a language (Moroccan) which makes english sound so super soft, even when comparing it to two people (speaking english) in an argument! (Asking for a Coke in Moroccan sounds very forceful and almost angry to the un-trained European ear!)

Golf at the oldest golf course in Morocco (word has it, in Africa) was another highlight. Chris has video. Just a FEW photos of our time here.

Spain - Day 1

A few photos from Harriet´s and my first day in BCN. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with Lluisa, Joel and Guiliana…
We are so excited to be here and Harriet (me) is particularly enthusiastic showing poor Stuart around all the places she used to live, hang out, eat good food… etc. I should, really have been a tour guide: must have missed my vocation! In any case I am so excited to be able to show Chris and Kelly and my own husband around the beautiful Spanish country… today we had tapas upon arrival and Stuart coped with the seafood but has already told me that it’s not what he wants to be eating for the next two weeks…
we’ll try and keep you updated and we are just so enjoying not having any plans, not have anything that HAS to be done and we don’t have any boxes to unpack… or not with us anyway!

We are off to Spain.

Before we decided to move to Switzerland (January), H, Chris, Kelly and I decided to plan a trip to Spain to explore the country. Monday, we will be meeting in Barcelona. From there, we’ll be traveling all the way down the coast, crossing over to Morocco for a few days, then up to Madrid, and finally back to Barcelona. Two weeks. Holidays… what’s that? Too much driving? Maybe.

We’ll keep you updated.

Love,
Stu and H
