Bob, what’s he won? ……A new car!!!!

Today, I went up to a town about 40km from Luzern, Switzerland to pick up our new car! We are very excited at the prospect of having wheels, especially when it comes to getting places which are otherwise unreached by public transport, expensive when traveling as a couple, or where we don’t have the time to waste waiting! (e.g. Getting to clients’ houses with the SK Tech Services business I run, or traveling up to the family chalet in Villars)
We chose a Mercedes A160 Avantgarde, a great mix of fuel economy, pep and space efficiency. Believe it or not, the A-Class is as short (length) as a Mini “One”. After picking up the car, I drove home on the highway, about 207km door to door, on less than a quarter of a tank of regular unleaded fuel. I love this car.

Check out some more photos of the car here.

I love it!!!!! Quite apart from the car itself … we can go places! It’s such a relief!

Stu & Harriet,

Love the car! It’s very exciting reading about your travels. It’s always nice to know that an old friend is doing well.

Always a friend,

Andrea (Andi) Smith

haha - awesome car! yes, we have another mini, 2nd hand - done now 26,000 miles ish - since we’ve had it, we’ve done about 6000 I think! :) It was built in 2000 - and they changed the gearbox in 2004, so reverse sticks a bit and the handbrake’s worn out - needs to go in for a service in a few weeks to get it checked out -but if not its good. So scary inititally driving in UK - but all good now.

have a good easter holiday in italy - i’ve got another week in suffolk and back to nottingham in a week.:) hugs xox
